Working with found materials, archival papers, gourds, decorative beads and fine leathers, Ann Leisenring crafts objects both utilitarian and decorative.
Formerly a mathematician, she is largely self taught.
Her work expresses her delight in the precision necessary to make finely crafted hand-made books
and journals.
In making her gourds, she loves to search for natural objects to incorporate into her designs. She often uses pine needles, driftwood, bird feathers and beads.
